Overview
Infantrymen attack the enemy on foot, armed with self-loading rifles, automatic rifles, machine guns, grenades, mines, anti-tank weaponry, shoulder-fired missiles, and rocket launchers. Infantry forces take and hold enemy locations and defend their own. Troops rely on various modes of transport, including personnel carriers and jeeps, to maintain a high level of mobility. The infantry also includes elite commando groups and paratroopers. Infantry leaders and personnel must undertake extensive weapons handling training. As the ground combat force, they will capture, destroy, and discourage enemy forces, aid in surveillance, and assist in mobilising soldiers and armaments to support the operation.
