Course Description

Bachelor of Library Science is an undergraduate degree course. Library science is the study of how to manage books and other materials in the library. The course focuses on providing the students with the understanding of philosophy of library science, its basic principles, laws as well as social impact. The course covers topics such as Library, Information & Society, Library Classification, Library Cataloguing, Information Sources & Services, Library Management & Information Centres, Library Information Technology, etc. On the completion of the course, students can work as an Archivist, Cataloguer, Consultant, Curator, Deputy Librarian, Library Director, Electronic Resources Librarian, Indexer, Information Architect, Library Assistant, Library Science Teacher, Law Librarian, etc.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have qualified 10+2 (any stream + English) or its equivalent from a recognized board of education with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
