Course Description

Bsc in Earth Science is a Postgraduate 3 years Science based course. The course gives students both in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of physical activities and chemical constitution of the Earth and its crust It provides knowledge regarding solutions to determine precise composition and age of Rocks in both above and below Earth’s crust and also imparts knowledge of Plate tectonics, history of Evolution of Life and history of Climate and environment of Earth. The course covers important topics like Structural geology, Minerology, Petrology, Sedimentology/Stratigraphy, Petrology, Earth History and other equivalent subdisciplines and make extensive use of subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Geography to build quantitative understanding of Earth’s composition and activities Candidates can work as Geochemists, Geophysicists, Hydrogeologists, Geoscientists, Environment Consultants, Minerals Surveyor etc and can have scope in Research and Development fields related to Planetary activities. In Corporations, Candidates can expect Jobs in Mining and Petroleum industries that make use of Geological Surveys to discover and excavate Minerals, Petroleum and other resources from Earth’s crust. Starting salary range between 2 Lakhs to 5 Lakhs per annum. Eligibility is merit based and Students need to complete 10+2 Science in PCM followed by cracking entrance exam named BHU UET for admissions in reputed Universities. Minimum Fees per year cost around a little less than one lakh to 5-6 lakhs depending on the University.

The candidate should have qualified 10+2 (any stream + English) or its equivalent from a recognized board of education with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
