Course Description

This study is concerned with the areas of speech, development of innovative language, swallowing and voice therapies. Candidates learn the skills necessary for assessment and treatment of a broad range of speech, voice, language, swallowing and cognitive-communication impairments. The course delivers information on diagnosis of the structural or functional causes that may have developed over time, or have resulted from causes such as stroke, head injury, or cancers of the head and neck. The study examines the production of speech and language and work with children and adults who have learning disabilities or communication disorders affecting their ability to interact and study the physiological and psychological aspects of hearing. This course also covers subjects such as functions of the inner and outer ear affect hearing, defects on vocal abilities due to heavy breathing, understanding vocal mechanisms, phonetic physiology and also acoustic components of speech sounds. It also diversifies the cultural and linguistic variations that affect children and adolescents with speech disorders.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have qualified a 10+2 (from any stream) with minimum 50% in aggregate.
