Course Description
B.Sc. (Hons.) in Botany is a 3 years undergraduate degree. Botany, a branch of is the scientific study of plants that includes the study of their structure, how they grow, how they can be effectively classified, the things that impact their development, etc. In this program, one studies about Biology, Biodiversity I: Algae and Microbiology, Chemistry, Biodiversity II: Mycology & Phytopathology, Biodiversity III: Archegoniatae, Plant Resource Utilization, Plant Development and Anatomy, Mathematics and Statistics, Ecology and Phytogeography, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Plant Systematics & Evolution, Plant Metabolism & Biochemistry, Plant Physiology, Reproductive Biology of Angiosperms, Environmental Management / Bioinformatics, Plant Biotechnology, Genetics & Genomics, etc. One can be a botanist, Horticulturist, Biological Technician, Ecologist, Forester, etc. on completion of the course.
