Course Description
Zoology is the discipline of Biology that scientifically ponders the structure, behavior, function, and evolution of animals. Subjects typically studied under this program are Quantitative Biology, Invertebrates, Cell Biology, Animal Physiology, Genetics, Structural Biology, Biostatistics, Environmental Physiology, Developmental Biology, Computations in Life Sciences, Immunology, Microbiology, Biotechnology etc.Zoology is a complete study of animals as well as their biological processes, the connections amongst them and their environment and key prospects of zoological marvels from atomic to biological levels. It concentrates on the function, structure, behavior, and evolution of animals. Candidates also study the beginning, origin, and development of species, their behaviors, their habits and interactions.
B.Sc. Hons. In Zoology degree program also involves the study of morphology, biochemistry, physiology, immunology, cell and molecular biology, embryology, biotechnology, genomics, genetics evolution as well as ecology.
Those candidates who have data-handling, analytical and written communication skills are most appropriate for it. Candidates must have oral communication, presentation and project management skills. Another important thing for the program is the ability to work both independently as well as being a part of the team. Those candidates who want to go to Master’s level for teaching purposes at institutes and universities also are the best match for it.
B.Sc. Hons. in Zoology degree program serves as a basis for higher studies in this field, for example, M.Sc., M.Phil., and Ph.D. degree in Zoology and also in Life-Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biophysics, Genetics and Microbiology, Toxicology, Agricultural entomology, Forestry and Wildlife, Pharmaceuticals Sciences, etc.
