Course Description

BSc in Nautical Sciences is a 3 years undergraduate course. It is a Science course that helps candidates get expertise in the field of Marine Science, Sea Navigation and study of on-board equipment and tools in Ships. The course covers a wide range of subjects in Nautical Science like Marine Engineering & Control System, Ship Operation Technology, Marine Engineering & Control System, Naval Arch - Ship Construction, Maritime Commerce, Voyage Plan & Collision Prevention etc. Upon completion of the programme candidates can expect to get job roles as Marine Engineer, Deck Cadet, Oceanographer, Ship captain, Nautical Surveyors etc in Shipping Companies and Military Navy. Starting salaries can be expected to range between 6 to 12 Lakhs per annum. Eligibility criteria is Merit based and candidates are expected to complete 10+2 or equivalent in Science stream with minimum percentage of 60% in PCM followed by cracking entrance exams like IMUCET, CUSAT CAT. Candidates are required to be physically fit with an eye vision of 6/6. Average Fees for the course is somewhere between 2 Lakhs to 5 Lakhs INR per annum depending on the institution that avails the course.

The candidate should have qualified 10+2 (any stream + English) or its equivalent from a recognized board of education with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
