Course Description

Metallurgical & Materials Science is a field that explores the relationship between the structure of materials at molecular or atomic scales and their microscopic properties. All kinds of metal related areas are covered by this field. This field involves properties of matter and application to science and engineering. B.Tech. + M.Tech. Metallurgical and Materials Science course aims at acquainting the students with the mathematical and metallurgical principles and their application in development, design and operational evaluation of metal components of load bearing, transmission, power, structural, and moving system. It also prepares the students to be able to analyze engineering problems like creep, alloy behavior, stress, environmental fluctuations, failure, optimal manufacturing process, electromagnetic and thermodynamic characteristics and stability.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have qualified 10+2 (science stream) or its equivalent from a recognized board of education with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
