The Five Years Degree Course in LLB studies is an integrated course that combines core subjects of Law along with content from other domains like Arts, Commerce and even Science like BSc and Engineering. The duration of course is 5 years like the name suggests. The discipline enables students to gain expertise in subjects not related to law along with in-depth understanding of Legal systems. The course covers a wide range of fundamental subjects in the field of Law like Economics, Administrative Law, Constitutional law, Advocacy Skills, Criminology, Corporate Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Banking and Insurance Law, Family Law etc coupled with subjects provided in any in streams associated with either Arts, Commerce or Science domains. Upon completion of the programme candidates can expect to get job roles as Litigators or Professional lawyers in Companies to handle their Corporate affairs or Legal work. Starting salaries can be expected to range from 5 to 12 Lakhs per annum depending on the organisation. Eligibility criteria is Merit based and candidates are expected to complete 10+2 in any of streams with minimum 45% aggregate marks. Entrance exams include CLAT, AILET, LSAT, ULSAT etc. Fees in Universities are somewhere between 10K lakhs to 2 Lakhs INR per annum depending on the institution.
