Course Description

M.A Kathak Dance is a 2 years postgraduate course. The course curriculum covers topics like History of Art, Natya Gruha, Theory of Indian Classical Dance and Theater, Natya Shastra,Nritta Composition, Vaishnavism and Shaivism in Indian classical dance, Rare Compositions in Kathak, etvc. The course takes a theoretical and practical based approach. On completion of the course, one can work as Activity co-coordinator, Performer, Choreographer, Dance teacher, group dancer, etc. Applicants with an interest in performing arts and kathak are suitable for the course. Applicants can further go into research or become a lecturer.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have completed Bachelor’s Degree in relevant faculty or discipline from a recognized university with a Minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. Many colleges conduct Entrance exams for admission to this course.
