Course Description

MPhil in Mass Communication and Journalism is a research oriented 1 to 2 years course. The Course constitutes programme that is up to some extent close to the PhD programme in mass communication and journalism. The course trains students in the field of Electronic Mass Media and Journalism. The course covers a wide range of fundamental subjects related to Journalism like Advanced Research Methods, Data Collection Methods, Research work dissertation, Data collection methods, Study of Media, Research Publishing, Reporting Mass Audience, Marketing Communication etc. Upon completion of the MPhil course, candidates can expect to get job roles as Senior Journalists, Columnists, Free Lance Writers, Script Writers, Editors etc in reputed TV News Channels, Newspaper organizations, Mass Media companies. Starting salaries can be expected to range from 3 to 7 Lakhs per annum depending on the organisation and job position. Eligibility criteria is Merit based and candidates are expected to complete PG level degree with minimum 50% aggregate marks and many reputed Universities have their own Entrance examinations followed by interviews. Fees in Universities are somewhere between 10K o 2 Lakhs INR per annum depending on the institutions

Eligibilty

The candidate should have Masters degree in relevant stream from a recognized university with an aggregate of 55% marks and also with valid Ph.D. entrance test (e.g. GATE, NET etc) along with the interview.
