Course Description

Linguistics is the scientific study of language and its structure, including the study of grammar, syntax, and phonetics. M.Phil in Linguistics is a 2 year pre-doctorate degree program that is designed to give a deeper understanding on linguistics and its categories. The course covers topics like Sociolinguistics, Language Teaching and Testing, Lexicography, Psycholinguistics, Language Planning and Development, Indian Grammatical Tradition, Translation, history and culture, the structure of an Indian or foreign language, computational linguistics and so on.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have Masters degree in relevant stream from a recognized university with an aggregate of 55% marks and also with valid Ph.D. entrance test (e.g. GATE, NET etc) along with the interview.
