Geology is the study of the earth's origin, history and composition etc. Its sub-branches are Mineralogy, Structural Geology, Geomorphology, Planetology and Geological Engineering etc. The role of a Geologist is very vital in exploring mineral wealth and natural resources. Geologists also determine conditions most suitable for constructing railway lines, roads, bridges, buildings etc. Geologists also explore under-water resources and gas fields located in the seabed. They conduct tests to measure soil quality by conducting geo-physical and geo-chemical tests.
