Course Description

M.Tech in Fluids Engineering program is designed to familiarize students, on an advanced level, with different aspects of Fluid Statics and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), which constitute the core concepts of creating a computational, virtual environment of any physical system that involves fluids and heat transfer. The program aims to offer theoretical training in the thermal and fluid sciences combined with simulation and experimental skills applied to aerospace, power plant, and gas turbines research. M.Tech in Fluids Engineering program equips students with the skills to create designs related to linear and non-linear steady state/ transient heat transfer, steady and unsteady fluid flow, flow through porous media, multi-phase flows, open channel flow, fluid structure interactions viz estimation of thermal and pressure loads and coupled field analysis. Usually, M.Tech in Fluids Engineering courses require students to work on long-term research- oriented projects or be involved in other activities such as field work, plant visit and others.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have complete B. Tech/B.E. in Aerospace/ Aeronautical/ Mechanical/ Civil/ Chemical Engineering with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Many colleges conduct Entrance exams for admission to this course.
