Course Description

M.Tech in Electrical Engineering is a full-time 2-year program that focuses on electricity, electromagnetism, and electronics and its applications. This course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of Electrical Engineering including Power, Electronics, Telecommunications, Control, Signal Processing, Microelectronics Instrumentation, and Computers. Throughout the duration of this course, some of the core subjects that are covered are- Advanced power system operation control, Computer-aided power system analysis, Advanced protective relaying switchgear, Advanced power system stability, Power system dynamics, Power electronics in power system, EHV AC and HVDC transmission, Substation engineering and automation, Applied linear algebra and matrix computation, Cybersecurity etc. The primary objective of this course is to create professionals that have advanced, in-depth knowledge, necessary skillset and extensive training required to work in some of the major industries such as BHEL, BSNL, HAL, Indian Railways, State Wise Electricity Boards, Indian Armed Forces, DRDO, Hydroelectric Power plants, and Thermal Power plants etc.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have completed B.E / B.Tech from a recognized university with Minimum of 60% marks in aggregate. Many colleges conduct Entrance exams and/or require a valid GATE score for admission to this course.
