Course Description

M.Tech in Structural Engineering and Construction Management is a 2-year full-time program that focuses on core areas of study including Structural Mechanics, Finite Element Analysis, Structural Reliability and Optimization, Reinforced and Prestressed Concrete, Steel Structures, Project Management, Construction Management, Contracts Management, Construction Quality, Safety and Equipment Management, Supply Chain Management of Construction Projects, Modern Construction Materials and Technologies, Computer Applications in Construction etc. The primary objective of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of structural engineering and construction management including, but not limited to, dams, bridges, pipelines, roads, towers and buildings, transport systems, harbours, airports, and railways. This course aims to facilitate the development of analytical skills and theoretical as well as a practical knowledge base and to create professionals that have the necessary training, advanced knowledge and technical skills to work in manufacturing companies, IT and architectural firms, and industries like structural design and construction, offshore design and construction, oil and gas sector, bridge design, construction management, and hydraulic structure design.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have completed BE/B.Tech in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. Many colleges/universities conduct entrance exam and/or require a valid GATE score for admission to this course.
