Course Description

M.Tech in Thermal Engineering is a full-time 2-year program that focuses on design, manufacture, testing, control, and evaluation of thermal power equipment. This course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of Thermal Engineering including energy efficiency, renewable energy & environmental preservation, and their comparison with classical energy technologies and recent technologies. Throughout the duration of this course, some of the core subjects that are covered are- Fluid Mechanics of Turbomachines, Fuels, Combustion and Emission Control, Instrumentation Advanced Fluid Mechanics, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Advanced Heat Transfer, Analysis of Thermal Power Cycles, Alternative Fuels for I.C. Engines, Heat Transfer Equipment Design, Environmental Pollution Control, etc. The primary objective of this course is to create professionals that have advanced, in-depth knowledge, necessary skillset and extensive training required to work in some of the major industries such as Punj Lloyd, L&T ECC, BARC, ISRO, Engineering Equipment Industries, Nuclear Power Stations, Pollution Control Agencies, Oil Exploration and Refining, Thermal Power Stations, Energy Conservation Departments, etc.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have completed B.E / B.Tech from a recognized university with Minimum of 60% marks in aggregate. Many colleges conduct Entrance exams and/or require a valid GATE score for admission to this course.
