Course Description
M.Tech. in Optical Engineering is a postgraduate engineering course which focuses on the application of optics. The eligibility for the course is B.E./B.Tech. in Optical Engineering with minimum aggregate marks as required by the institute.
A qualified Optical Engineer designs components of optical instruments such as lenses, microscopes, telescopes, and other equipment that utilize the properties of light. M.Tech. in Optical Engineering program trains students to apply mathematical and scientific principles for the design, development and operational evaluation of optical systems, lasers, and other electronic devices. The core areas of the curriculum include wave theory and mechanics, electromagnetic applications, linear and non-linear optics, photon detection, laser beam properties, optical systems and implementation of systems and equipment.
