Course Description

Ph.D. History and Indian Culture is a 3 years postgraduate course. The course curriculum covers topics like Historiography, History of Ideas, Study of historical conflicts, Study of the writing of history and of written histories, Vedic Literature, Brahmanical Literature, Buddhist Literature, Jain Literature, etc. The course takes a research based approach. On completion of the course, one can work as Local Historian, Policy Analyst, Evaluator, Planner, Cultural Historic Preserver or Resources Manager, etc. Applicants with interest in history and indian culture are suitable for the course. Applicants can further become a lecturer.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have Masters or M.Phil. degree in relevant stream from a recognized university with an aggregate of 55% marks and also with valid Ph.D. entrance test (e.g. GATE, NET etc) along with the interview.
