PhD in Horticulture is a Doctoral level thesis programme of 3 years. Ph.D. in Horticulture is comprehensive study in techniques that are used in preserving the nutritional value, increase production rates and overall quality of fruit products. The course covers important research studies in topics like plant propagation, flowering, plant dormancy, fruit development and fruit ripening, study of abiotic stress impact on growth of fruit plants etc. The scope is very bright with candidates having the potential to pursue jobs Horticulturist researcher, Food Quality manager, Fruit and vegetable production manager etc in various Health organisations, Agro-industries and Food and Beverage companies etc. Starting salaries can be expected to range from 4 Lakhs to 15 Lakhs per annum depending on the organisation and job position.
