Course Description

Ph.D. in Environmental Science is essentially an advanced study of our natural and man-made environments. It draws from diverse fields of study and requires a strong background in the more traditional sciences including Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Ecology, and even Biotechnology.The PhD course includes extensive coursework, seminars and Theme papers. It also includes a thesis work, where the candidates have to choose a specialization. The area of specialization includes studies of Soil, forest and biodiversity conservation; Water treatment & waste management; Disaster management; Biological nitrogen removal; Freshwater biodiversity, Nanomaterials, etc.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have Masters or M.Phil. degree in Environmental science from a recognized university with an aggregate of 55% marks and also with valid Ph.D. entrance test (e.g. GATE, NET etc) along with the interview.
