Course Description

Ph.D. Industrial Design is a research oriented programme that could be completed within 3- 5 Years. It aims at understanding and extending the present and future foundations of design research and practice. Training is provided in areas such as advanced skills in crafting practical, research methodology, history, philosophy and user-centred design, philosophy of science, ethics and pedagogics etc. Creativity, Visual Imagination, Ability to express ideas, Aesthetics, colour sensitivity, ergonomics, problem solving, critical thinking etc are the skills required to be successful in this career. After completing the course, one can pursue their career in academia and research or take up jobs in design departments of manufacturing firms, industries, consulting firms etc.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have Masters or M.Phil. degree in relevant stream from a recognized university with an aggregate of 55% marks and also with valid Ph.D. entrance test (e.g. GATE, NET etc) along with the interview.
