Course Description

The program is an extensive research one which encompasses optical fibre sensing, non-contact flow measurement, gas and chemical detection, speckle interferometry and optical coherence tomography. Candidates get an opportunity to develop novel instrumentation to tackle engineering measurement problems in aerospace, structural health monitoring, geotechnics, advanced manufacturing, environmental protection and healthcare.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have a first or second class honours degree, MSc or equivalent, in physics, electrical engineering or related fields. Additional experience in applied optics, optical sensing or communications would be an advantage for the candidate.
