Animal Science education is a multidisciplinary subject which is evolving rapidly with the core components of science, ethics, welfare laws and welfare standards. Animal Science can be applied to all animal species, sometimes preceded by ‘farm’ or ‘companion’ or other words to denote to which group of animals the term is specifically referring. In general, however, we are concerned about the welfare of all animals that are managed in some way by humans, and where we have particular responsibilities for their care.
