Course Description
Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Disaster Management is a one-year full-time course. The course is offered by the Department of Geography. It helps in strengthening the capacity of people to scale back the impact of disasters through enhancing student’s knowledge and skills to promote awareness and for themselves adopt disaster reduction practices. The course is a part of the development process at the community, regional and national levels. Students will be learning about disaster preparedness, disaster mitigation, disaster response, rehabilitation and resettlement, industrial safety and first aid. Disaster managers are also given the opportunity to incorporate knowledge of disaster management as an add-on to their professional development.
