BA Hons. Urdu is a 3 years undergraduate programme. The course curriculum covers topics like Old Poetry Text, Drama, Fiction, and Satire, Principle of literary criticism, Prose Text in Urdu, Additional Poetry text Literary Movements, History and Criticism of old prose, Rhetoric, Different schools of criticism, Modern Urdu poetry, History and Criticism under rhetoric History of Urdu Language and literature, Short stories, History of the language, Urdu literature in Bengal, etc. The course takes a theoretical based approach. On completion of the course, one can work as a Translator, Content developer, Journalist, Teacher or Embassy related work. Applicants can further go into research or become a lecturer.
