Course Description

B.A Musicology is a 3 year undergraduate course. The course curriculum covers topics like Appreciation of Music, Concert Singing, Laws of Acoustics, Bada Khayal and Chhota Khayal, Different Gharanas and their history, Musical Sound, Wave Motion, Frequency, Pitch, and Volume, A brief history of Bharat Natya Shastra and Sangeet Ratnakar, Evolution of Notation system, Music & Literature, etc. The course takes a theoretical and practical based approach. On completion of the course, one can work as Art Director, Artist & Repertoire (A&R) Person, Band Leader, Composer/Arranger, Disc Jockey, Film Music Director/Editor, Music Attorney, Music Critic, etc. Applicants can further go into research or become a lecturer.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have qualified 10+2 (any stream + English) or its equivalent from a recognized board of education with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
