Course Description

Bachelor of Design in Fashion and Merchandising is a course that takes a multi-dimensional approach in educating the candidates about the creative, designing as well as business aspects of the Fashion industry. It is a course that comprises of but is not limited to the concepts and processes related to concept management, textile science, design process management, fabric design, quality control, printing, fashion merchandising, colour mixing and marketing. Candidates learn about the theoretical and practical approach to identify the key elements of fashion buying and merchandising, create a seasonal selling calendar and analysing them, create and manage a journey from source to store of a product, fashion promotion, identify and analyse the strategies used by retailers, both internally and externally, the role of the customer in influencing, trend forecasting etc The candidates are empowered to become responsible professionals that ensure that products appear in the right store, or on a website, at the appropriate time and in the correct quantities.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have qualified 10+2 (any stream + English) or it's equivalent from a recognized board of education with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
