Course Description
Industrial Microbiology is a branch of Applied Microbiology. Students enrolled to the course are taught on an advanced level, the role of microorganisms in a variety of industrial processes. Through these processes, a number of useful high value products are obtained, such as drugs, fuel, food items, chemicals, sweeteners, detergents, beverages and many such.
An Industrial Microbiologist utilizes microorganisms in manufacturing of food and such industrial products. The course imparts detailed lessons in the engineering and scientific principles that work behind the processing of materials by microorganisms. Students are familiarized with the role of Industrial Microbiology in safety and quality assurance for food, pharmaceutical and chemicals.
