Course Description

As a branch of science, Geology is essentially the study and exploration of the earth and its natural components. It also involves the study of related areas like environment, history of earth, minerals, etc. The discipline has been expanding with new specialized areas coming up, such as structural geology, planetology, geomorphology, mineralogy, geological engineering, etc. A geologist specializes in the study of earth and its composition.

Typical day at work

The course is very different from the other courses. This is because it is not a recognized course in India. Thus very few students have knowledge of this course. Once you opt for a geology course, there are different career options that can be pursued by the students. These career options are to become Geographers, Completions Technologist, Processing Geophysicist, Researchers, Oceanographers, Geologists, Meteorologists, Seismologist.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have eligibility a Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent qualification from a recognized educational Board, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and/ or Math as main subjects and a minimum aggregate score of 55% marks.
