Course Description

Dermatology & STD (MD) is a 3 years postgraduate course. The course curriculum covers topics like Clinical approach to the patient of sexually transmitted diseases, Anatomy of male, female genitalia, CVS and CNS, Historical and Epidemiological aspects of STD’s, Viral STD’s including HIV, Herpes, HPV, Molluscum contagiosum, EBV, HBV, HCV, HPV vaccines, Dermatology – Fundamentals, Structure and Development of skin, and Biochemistry and Physiology of epidermis and its appendages, Metabolic disorders, Venereology, Allergic disorders, Leprosy, AIDS, Dermatopathology, Anatomy, etc. The course takes a practical and theoretical based approach. On completion of the course, one can work as a Dermatologist, Cosmetic Dermatologist, Surgical Dermatologist, Medical Dermatologist, etc. Applicants can further go into research or become a lecturer.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have completed Bachelor’s Degree in relevant faculty or discipline from a recognized university with a Minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. Many colleges conduct Entrance exams for admission to this course.
