Course Description

M.Phil in Ancient Indian History Culture & Archaeology is a 2 year pre-doctorate program, designed for those students who would like to have an in-depth insight in ancient indian history, culture and archaeology. The course comprises of topics like History of South India upto 1336 A.D, Special period of Karnataka History: (a) From the earliest times to 975 A.D., Special period of Karnataka History:(b) From 975 A.D. to 1336 A.D., Special period of Karnataka History: (c) Vijayanagara Empire, Historical Archaeology With Special Reference to India, Indian Epigraphy, Archaeology of Karnataka, Rock-Cut Architecture of India, Gupta Art and Architecture, Pallava and Chola Art and Architecture, Chalukya and Hoysala Art and Architecture, Indo-Islamic Architecture, etc.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have Masters degree in relevant stream from a recognized university with an aggregate of 55% marks and also with valid Ph.D. entrance test (e.g. GATE, NET etc) along with the interview.
