The study is concerned with the understanding of marine organisms, their behaviors and interactions with the environment. The research areas include community ecology of coral reef systems, tropical seagrass beds, mangroves and fisheries, deep sea/marine connectivity, ocean acidification and macronutrient cycling. Candidates learn to analyze the behavior and physiological processes of marine species, or the diseases and environmental conditions that affect them.
