Course Description

M.Sc. in Geophysics is a 2 years postgraduate degree. Geophysics is a branch of earth science dealing with the physical processes and phenomena occurring especially in the earth and in its vicinity. The course curriculum covers topics such as Geology, Geomathematics, Numerical Methods & Computer Programming, Physics of the Earth, Electrical Methods, Gravity Methods, Signal Processing, Seismology, Magnetic Methods, Electromagnetic Methods & Remote Sensing, Hydrogeology, Well Logging, Seismic Prospecting, etc. On the completion of the course, one can work as an Advisor Geophysicist, Geoscientist, Research Scientist, Exploration Geoscientist, Associate Professor, Geophysicist, etc.
