Course Description

M. Sc in Plant science is a 2 years post graduate degree in the field of science that studies the plants and how they interact and are involved with other plants, animals and people. The course covers an extensive range of subjects like Microbiology (Bacteriology, Virology) and Microbial Biotechnology, Mycology and Plant Pathology (Fungal Diseases), Algology and Lichenology, Bryology, Pteridophytes, Gymnosperms and Palaeobotany, Angiosperms: Taxonomy and Economic Botany, Angiosperms: Histology, Anatomy, Embryology, Cytology, Genetics and Cytogenetics, Plant Breeding and Biostatistics, Ecology, Environment and Soil Science, Plant Physiology, Cell Biology & Plant Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Human welfare, etc. On completion of the course, candidates can work in Forest Departments, Environment Protection Centres, Horticulture Companies, Agriculture Sector, etc.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have completed Bachelor’s Degree in relevant faculty or discipline from a recognized university with a Minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. Many colleges conduct Entrance exams for admission to this course.
