Course Description

It is the study of blood, blood-forming organs and blood diseases. The study aims to get an understanding how these problems occur, how they affect a person’s health, and how to treat them. The study provides treatment of blood disorders and malignancies, including types of hemophilia, leukemia, lymphoma and sickle-cell anemia. The concept of hematology deals with the physiology, pathology, etiology, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and prevention of blood-related disorders. Candidates also receive training in oncology, which is the branch of medicine dedicated to diagnosing and treating cancer. This course in general focuses on diagnosis of lymphatic organs and bone marrow and may diagnose blood count irregularities or platelet irregularities.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have qualified a B.Sc Med. Tech. in Hematology or equivalent.
