Master of Science in Mathematics is a Post graduate specialisation course of 2 years that requires both study and thesis for successful completion. The course consists of study and research in mathematical branches of Geometry, Algebra, mathematical analysis and number theory. The course covers extensive research and study in subjects like Advanced Differential Equations, Differential Geometry, Linear Algebra, Dynamics of a Rigid Body, Advanced Abstract Algebra etc. Upon completion of the course candidates can expect to get job roles as Mathematical analysts, Astronomers, Nanotechnologist, Data analyst in reputed research institutions like NASA, ISRO and also private companies. Starting salaries can be expected to range from 8 Lakhs to 12 Lakhs per annum in India. Eligibility criteria is Merit based and candidates are expected to complete Graduation in related discipline with minimum 50% aggregate marks followed by qualifying entrance tests like GATE exams or BHU PET etc. Fees in Colleges/Universities are somewhere between 50K to 3 Lakhs INR per year.
