Course Description

Master of Science in Physics is a Post graduate specialisation course of 2 years that requires both study and thesis in the field of Physics. The field encompasses the study of properties and characteristics of Energy and Matter and mechanics or functions of everything in the Universe. The course covers extensive research and study in concepts significant to Physics like Atomic Spectroscopy, Nuclear and Particle Physics, Radiation Theory, Atomic and Molecular Physics, Advanced Quantum Mechanics etc. Upon completion of the course candidates can expect to get job roles as Physicists, Astronomer, Nanotechnologist, Meteorologist, Radiation protection practitioner, Data analyst in reputed research institutions like NASA, ISRO and also private companies. Starting salaries can be expected to range from 8 Lakhs to 12 Lakhs per annum in India. Eligibility criteria is Merit based and candidates are expected to complete Graduation in related discipline with minimum 50% aggregate marks followed by qualifying entrance tests like GATE exams or BHU PET etc. Fees in Colleges/Universities are somewhere between 50K to 3 Lakhs INR per year.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have completed Bachelor’s Degree in relevant faculty or discipline from a recognized university with a Minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. Many colleges conduct Entrance exams for admission to this course.
