Master of Science in Production Engineering is a Post graduate Engineering specialisation course of 2 years that requires both study and thesis in the field of Production technology. The field encompasses Manufacturing technology, management science and engineering science. The course covers extensive research and study in concepts significant to production engineering like Industrial Automation and Robotics, Advanced Manufacturing Process, Metal cutting and Tool design, Operations Research etc. Upon completion of the MS course candidates can expect to get job roles as Process engineer, Floor Manager, Engineering product managers, Service Engineer, Process technician, University Professors in various Government and Private sectors. Starting salaries can be expected to range from 6 Lakhs to 8 Lakhs per annum. Eligibility criteria is Merit based and candidates are expected to complete B.Tech/BE in production technology related discipline with minimum 50% aggregate marks followed by qualifying GATE exams.
