Course Description

M.Tech Food Process Engineering and Management is a two-year postgraduate Food Processing course. The students are trained, for instance, on the basic engineering approaches to fruits and vegetables, grains, oil seeds, plantation crops, meat, poultry, and milk processing and preservation techniques. The objectives of the Food Process Engineering degree program are to educate engineers and scientists in different aspects of food engineering and food processing with specialization in an area of food process engineering. The course is the application of the principles of science to the efficient commercial production of safe wholesome food from refined raw materials. Physics is the scientific basis of food process engineering but thermo-bacteriology and predictive microbiology are also relevant.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have completed B. Tech./B.E. / M.Sc. or equivalent Degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Many colleges conduct Entrance exams for admission to this course.
