Course Description
Master of Technology in Geotechnical Engineering course centres around the study of the behaviour of different kinds of soil under different circumstances along with soil-water interactions. The course is associated with the investigation and study of subsurface materials and their conditions by applying the principles and concepts of rock mechanics in order to design foundations, earth dams, temporary excavation support and also route selection for railways and highways among other applications. Candidates also learn about the strategies and technologies required for the clean up of contaminated soil and groundwater and develop management systems for the same.
