Course Description

M.Tech.(R) Earth and Atmospheric Sciences is a 2 years postgraduate course. The course curriculum covers topics like Introduction to Weather and Climate, Mathematical and Statistical Methods, Observational Techniques, Satellite Meteorology, Atmospheric Thermodynamics, Radiation, Cloud Physics and Atmospheric Electricity, Elements of Atmospheric Modelling, etc . The course takes a research based approach. On completion of the course, one can work as Research Associate, Trainee Scientist or can work in Air and Sea Transportation Companies, Weather Prediction Centres, etc. Applicants with mathematics, computer skills and advanced critical-thinking skills are suitable for the course. Applicants can further go into research or become a lecturer.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have completed Bachelor’s Degree in relevant faculty or discipline from a recognized university with a Minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. Many colleges conduct Entrance exams for admission to this course.
