Course Description

Cardiac surgery and procedures can be complex, invasive and hence cardiac anesthesia becomes very important. Ph.d Cardiac Anesthesiology gives the candidates a deeper understanding of cardiac anesthesia. The course covers topics like History of Anaesthesia for cardiothoracic & vascular surgery, Natural History of Cardiac & Pulmonary diseases, Demography Diagnosis, Pre-Op. evaluation & Preparation for surgery, Cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, Drugs related to anaesthesia of CPB, Pharmacokinetics during CPB, Pulmonary life-Support — Advanced cardiac life support, Team work, Communication skills, Ethics, Medico legal Aspects of Cardio– Thoracic and Vascular Anaesthesia and Documentation, Post-operative care and pain relief, Operative DIRECT CARE (Conduct of anaesthesia), etc.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have Masters or M.Phil. degree in relevant stream from a recognized university with an aggregate of 55% marks and also with valid Ph.D. entrance test (e.g. GATE, NET etc) along with the interview.
