Course Description

English is the most widely spoken language in the world. Several modern European languages are also widely spoken throughout the world, allowing you to find work in various countries around the world. If you enjoy English and European literature, you can be sure that studying Indian languages will be a rewarding career choice. This doctoral programme will teach you about the perspectives of commonly spoken modern European languages. You will divide your time between the various projects and the overall project in the language of your choice. There are several Indo-European dialects in addition to English spoken in modern European countries, including French, German and Spanish. Depending on the language you choose to study, you will learn various literary analysis methods in this course. When a student has earned a doctorate in a particular language, they will be prepared to pursue various career paths that call for fluency in that language. You can also work as a teacher or professor in your chosen field of study.

Eligibilty

Course Level: Doctorate Duration: 3 years Qualification+Marks: Doctoral study in English and Modern European Languages requires a Post Graduate degree in English with a minimum of 55% from a recognised university to be considered for admission. Experience as a teacher in the same subject area would be considered an advantage. Applications are also accepted from students who are in their last semester of their M. Phil. or MA programme. Entrance Exam: National level entrance exams such as UGC NET / UGC CSIR NET / GATE / SLET or university admission exams include a written test and a personal interview.
