Course Description
Agricultural biotechnology is a range of tools, including traditional breeding techniques, that alter living organisms, or parts of organisms, to make or modify products; improve plants or animals; or develop microorganisms for specific agricultural uses. Modern biotechnology includes the tools of genetic engineering. The program is designed to incorporate basic elements of science with a variety of technology applications that are used to modify living organisms. Areas of emphasis include basic science laboratory procedures, implementation of the scientific method of discovery, plant science, animal science, environmental science and food science.
