How to become a Business Person

A businessperson is also called as Entrepreneur, the founder, owner, majority shareholder in an enterprise or a high-level executive is someone who basically runs a business. This business person is involved in undertaking activities for the purpose of generating cash flow, revenue and sales by utilizing a combination of financial, intellectual and physical capital towards economic growth and development. The business person is also referred to as a white-collar worker, executive or even as owner. A business person either runs a small firm or a big organization depending on abilities and resources, but a business person can turn the small business to a big industry or organization by the dedication and hard work.

Business people are involved in business operations, including strategic planning, financial management, marketing, sales, and human resources. They may start their businesses or be involved in managing established enterprises. Business people often possess leadership skills, innovation, risk-taking ability, and strong business acumen.

A role of a business person is comprehensive and multifaceted but generally consists of performing the following tasks:

• Ensures the smooth operation of his business.
• Maintains the production schedule.
• Ensures the sufficient supply of raw materials and manpower along with equipment.
• Involved in developing sales and marketing strategies.
• Involved in creating or reviewing business plans, building strategies on sales.
• Leads the organization, motivates and drives the team towards success or goal.
• Involved in the planning and execution of strategies.

In order to excel in any field, aspirants must possess certain attributes that complement the job role. In a similar fashion, a business person must great decision-making skills, leadership skills, commercial awareness, accountability,  diplomacy and management skills. Businesspersons should have great communication skills and interpersonal skills as they are required to deal with people of varied temperaments and form meaningful and long-term relationships with other business owners and employees. A business person must be very ambitious, willing to take risks and driven to make a change. 

In order to enrol into a Master's program at an esteemed university, aspirants are expected to clear the Common Admission Test or CAT exam which is basically an aptitude test. CAT scores are like a gateway to the best business schools in India. The exam tests Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning. It is a very difficult and challenging exam to crack that requires hard work as well as rigorous and consistent preparation. Some states have their own entrance exams that are admissible in their respective universities. Many educational institutes conduct their own entrance tests.
