Course Description

This study of psychiatry primarily focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders in children, adolescents, and their families. Candidates are provided with beter identification of the underlying biopsychosocial factors that influence the development and course of these psychiatric disorders and treatment responses to various interventions. The course provides will in-depth knowledge of the diagnosis and management of psychiatric disturbances via thinking, feeling or behaviour in children and adolescents including intellectual disability. Candidates perform intramural and extramural research activities in the areas of Neurodevelopmental disorders (Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder etc), Mood Disorders (Depression, Bipolar Affective Disorder), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Life skills and Child abuse.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have completed MD in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from a recognized university.
