DM – Medical Gastroenterology is a 3 years postgraduate course. The course curriculum covers topics like Immune system of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) and its importance in various GI disorders, Genetic disorders in relation GIT and Liver, Gene and Stem cell therapy, Esophagus, Stomach, Small Intestine, Colon, Pancreas, etc. The course takes a theoretical and practical based approach. On completion of the course, one can work as gastroenterologists in areas of primary health care, general medication, diseases diagnosis, epidemiological analysis, etc. Applicants can further go into research or become a lecturer.
