Course Description

MPhil in women studies is a post-graduation Philosophical course of 2 years duration and divided into four semesters. The programme is aimed at teaching students about Social Theory and Research in the field of Feminism intended to improve Social conditions of women in the Human Society. The course covers a wide range of fundamental subjects related to Feminism like Feminist Interrogations of Social Theory, Gender Theory in India, Operationalizing Feminist Concepts for Social Research, Methodology for Feminist Research etc Upon completion of the programme candidates can expect to get job roles as College Professors, Clinical Social Worker, Human Rights Workers, Journalists, Women empowerment Advocates, Public relations executive etc. Starting salaries can be expected to range from 2 to 6 Lakhs per annum depending on the organisation. Eligibility criteria is Merit based and candidates are expected to complete at least a Master’s degree in related course with 55% aggregate marks. Fees in Universities are somewhere between 10K to 1 Lakhs INR depending on the institutions.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have Masters degree in relevant stream from a recognized university with an aggregate of 55% marks and also with valid Ph.D. entrance test (e.g. GATE, NET etc) along with the interview.
