Course Description

M.sc in virology is a 2 years post graduate program that deals with study of viruses, their structure, origin, classification, evolution and the ways to infect and exploit cells for reproduction, the diseases they cause, techniques to isolate and culture them. The course also focuses on Vector Biology , Basic Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Virological Methods, Virus/antigen Detection, Entomological Methods, Antivirals and Vaccines, etc. The course syllabus also involves analysing different viruses by covering topics like Viral Haemorrhagic Fevers, HIV/AIDS, Viral Encephalitis, Viral Hepatitis, Enteric Viruses, etc.

Eligibilty

The candidate should have completed Bachelor’s Degree in relevant faculty or discipline from a recognized university with Minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. Many colleges conduct Entrance exams for admission to this course.
